Wednesday Morning PMU

I gather it's Ash Wednesday today. The clues are unmistakable: random people in my office with smudges of black powder in the vague shape of a cross on their foreheads, the fact that today is a Wednesday, the fact that yesterday was Fat Tuesday (which must have something to do with eating and celebrating as much as possible before the onset of lent and fasting), and it's the beginning of March - a month that brings us closer to Easter egg hunts. Hint, hint: I'm not Christian. I'm something of an Agnostic Atheist, and a strong supporter of a separation between Church and State, in no small part because almost all of the major organized religions of the world (even the Eastern religions for which I have a soft spot) are patriarchal in nature and place women in a position of inferiority.

In the spirit of separation between religious ideology and government, I bring you the following cartoon, courtesy of Slate Magazine
