Match Oh My

I've gone ahead and done it. I signed up for Match.com. Wow. After spending the last hour skimming through profiles and adjusting mine, I can report that, based on my initial impression, it is indeed ugly out there. 35-year olds saying they're looking for EIGHTEEN to 25-year olds, men with really, really bad or creepy pictures winking at me, and lots of people who can't spell.

The good news is: I put myself out there. As my Uncle says, I'm just putting out my racket and keeping myself open. This is going to be either interesting, dull, wonderful, good practice, or none of the above. Stay tuned. Thanks for all of your advice!

Well, now this is going to be lots of fun for me to watch from afar. :-) I know some people who have gone on many dates using Match.com, but none who have found a keeper. Good luck to you.

Good Luck:) I can't wait to hear what kind of men you meet, I'm sure there are bound to be some interesting ones!

I got men twice (plus) my age winking at me. AmericanSingles is worse. Total pervs on that site. But eHarmony is so restrictive, so I was Match'd. And I got Nick. :) So, it does work. A coworker of mine met her husband there, and I know of a few other people that it worked for too. I know you'll be picky though, which is good, and worth the time. Just take a break from it when you feel like and go at your own pace. Fingers crossed!

Ditto what Willow said. And that's great that you are putting yourself out there. I would think of it as adventures waiting to happen - pleasant OR pervy. :)

May the force be with you! :) Can't wait to read all about it.

Speaking of bad spelling, in your post "Another Friend Ties the Knot" the past tense of lead (v.) is misspelled. It should be "led." This common error probably results from the fact the "lead" (n.) has the same pronunciation.

i met the most amazing people on match, many of who became my friends for life. Three of them came to my wedding two months ago with their girlfriends.

I also went on a date with a midget who bit me on the thigh mid-date. True story.

I met my husband when he found my blog.

So, my advice: keep an open mind, bring pepperspray on dates, and keep blogging.
