The Tower

You are The Tower

Ambition, fighting, war, courage. Destruction, danger, fall, ruin.

The Tower represents war, destruction, but also spiritual renewal. Plans are disrupted. Your views and ideas will change as a result.

The Tower is a card about war, a war between the structures of lies and the lightning flash of truth. The Tower stands for "false concepts and institutions that we take for real." You have been shaken up; blinded by a shocking revelation. It sometimes takes that to see a truth that one refuses to see. Or to bring down beliefs that are so well constructed. What's most important to remember is that the tearing down of this structure, however painful, makes room for something new to be built.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

I took this test twice. The first time I chose more aspirational choices and I was "The Empress." The Empress was awesome, but a little too nurturing and creative for my current state of being, so I took the test again, this time trying to be completely honest with my answers as of this moment in time. I was thinking about what that fortune teller told me, that Tarot Cards are only a reflection of a person's state of being in the moment the cards are shuffled and dealt.

The second time around, I found out that I am "The Tower." Frightening, not completely accurate, a little over the top and dramatic, but ultimately fitting. The part I'm focusing on, ever so optimistically is: "What's most important to remember is that the tearing down of this structure, however painful, makes room for something new to be built."

Four more days until I move. As you can imagine, I have a host of conflicting feelings about moving. With all of my heart, I wish I did not have to say goodbye. But, I have to.

What Tarot Card reflects your inner state of being right now?

I got this:

You are The Wheel of Fortune. Good fortune and happiness but sometimes a species of intoxication with success. The Wheel of Fortune is all about big things, luck, change, fortune. Almost always good fortune. You are lucky in all things that you do and happy with the things that come to you. Be careful that success does not go to your head however. Sometimes luck can change.

hmmm.

Wood - I think you ARE lucky, come to think of it! Wonderful husband, great relationship, professional success, fabulous daughter. Not bad, not bad at all! I also know that you don't have to worry about success going to your head. That would never happen.

You are The Lovers

Motive, power, and action, arising from Inspiration and Impulse.

The Lovers represents intuition and inspiration. Very often a choice needs to be made.

Originally, this card was called just LOVE. And that's actually more apt than "Lovers." Love follows in this sequence of growth and maturity. And, coming after the Emperor, who is about control, it is a radical change in perspective. LOVE is a force that makes you choose and decide for reasons you often can't understand; it makes you surrender control to a higher power. And that is what this card is all about. Finding something or someone who is so much a part of yourself, so perfectly attuned to you and you to them, that you cannot, dare not resist. This card indicates that the you have or will come across a person, career, challenge or thing that you will fall in love with. You will know instinctively that you must have this, even if it means diverging from your chosen path. No matter the difficulties, without it you will never be complete.

Um... golly. I don't know what to think of that one. Last time I think I got death.

As for The Tower, I think you are definitely building something new, and it's going to be wonderful once the rubble clears.

Gypsy - My first reaction to seeing that you got "The Lovers" was 'Of course!.' Then I started reading the text and it seems to involve a lot of change. Interesting.

Once the rubble clears, I can start to build soemthing new. It's so damn hard clearing it though.

You are Strength
Courage, strength, fortitude. Power not arrested in the act of judgement, but passing on to further action, sometimes obstinacy.

This is a card of courage and energy. It represents both the Lion's hot, roaring energy, and the Maiden's steadfast will. The innocent Maiden is unafraid, undaunted, and indomitable. In some cards she opens the lion's mouth, in others she shuts it. Either way, she proves that inner strength is more powerful than raw physical strength. That forces can be controlled and used to score a victory is very close to the message of the Chariot, which might be why, in some decks, it is Justice that is card 8 instead of Strength. With strength you can control not only the situation, but yourself. It is a card about anger and impulse management, about creative answers, leadership and maintaining one's personal honor. It can also stand for a steadfast friend.

That's what I got.

You're making such progress through the hard part ... that's to be celebrated!

Buttercup: I love your site! Especially your concept. I tried to start a blog with my three sisters but I was the only one who posted. It's a great way to stay abreast without having the carve out an hour a night to check in with eachother. Thanks for dropping by my site... I think you may have inspired a post about MY sister. Stay tuned!

I got this one:

You are The Chariot

Triumph, Victory, Overcoming Obstacles.

The chariot is one of the most complex cards to define. On its most basic level, it implies war, a struggle, and an eventual, hard-won victory. Either over enemies, obstacles, nature, the beasts inside you, or to just get what you want. But there is a great deal more to it. The charioteer wears emblems of the sun, yet the sign behind this card is the moon. The chariot is all about motion, and yet it is often shown as stationary. It is a union of opposites, like the black and white steeds. They pull in different directions, but must be (and can be!) made to go together in one direction. Control is required over opposing emotions, wants, needs, people, circumstances; bring them together and give them a single direction, your direction. Confidence is also needed and, most especially, motivation. The card can, in fact, indicate new motivation or inspiration, which gets a stagnant situation moving again.

That's me. To a "T". But the motivation part is what I have the most difficulty keeping up sometimes.

When I saw Gypsy was 'Lovers' I laughed. Exactly what I would have expected from her.

Pas - I can completely understand why you got "Strength." All of this rings true: "creative answers, leadership and maintaining one's personal honor...[and]... a steadfast friend."

Lass - Fascinating. I want to hear more about how "a union of opposites" fits you.

Oh, here is me:

You are The Hierophant
Divine Wisdom. Manifestation. Explanation. Teaching.

All things relating to education, patience, help from superiors. The Hierophant is often considered to be a Guardian Angel.

The Hierophant's purpose is to bring the spiritual down to Earth. Where the High Priestess between her two pillars deals with realms beyond this Earth, the Hierophant (or High Priest) deals with worldly problems. He is well suited to do this because he strives to create harmony and peace in the midst of a crisis. The Hierophant's only problem is that he can be stubborn and hidebound. At his best, he is wise and soothing, at his worst, he is an unbending traditionalist.

Ok, maybe I am stubborn, but I don't think I am a traditionalist....

Buttercup said...

Bubbles - This is perfect for you! You are training to deal with wordly problems, teaching and education fits... "divine" wisdom is a little much, but I absolutely give you wisdom. And, yes, you are stubborn. A traditionalist perhaps in some ways...?

What, you don't think I am an angel blessed with wisdom from above sent to earth to spread that divine wisdom? I thought that was a given.
