Hypothetically Speaking

If you had started a blog with your sister about a year ago when your life was in turmoil and weighed down by various dark clouds, and then had spent the last few months making dramatic changes in your life, capping things off with one of the most incredible weeks of your life where you actually felt - for the first time ever - completely in tune with the universe and yourself, so much so that you actually have come to believe that the universe has in fact been conspiring to encourage you down this path of transformation, and you now feel so different from the girl who started the blog originally, and you want to let go of the negative memories of your former job and former relationship for many reasons including the fact that you finally started meditating and have been practicing letting things float down the river so that your mind can be clear and peaceful,

...but you still want to be an avid blogger,

...would you continue writing on the original blog, and if so would you keep the name the same or change it, or would you start a new blog with a new title and concept that more accurately reflects where you are in this moment?

p.s. Thanks for all of your messages. I have missed you all and am looking forward to reconnecting.

It is a personal decision, and one that only you can make. But since you're asking for our opinion...I vote for keeping the same blog. Just as your life has been taking new turns and making new changes...so can your blog! You can give it a new look and write about new things. Still...I like the idea of being able to look back on your journey and see how far you've come and how you've changed.

Whatever you decide, and wherever you continue to write, I'll be there reading! I've missed you, and I'm glad you're home safe and sound. I can't wait to hear about bikini boot camp. Less than a week until you're an auntie, too!!!

WELCOME HOME!

With the caveat that it's completely up to you...and also knowing that I (along with several others) will follow you anyway....

I tend to agree with Starshine in that it's nice to see the transformation...to have that record. What about Bean as well? Is she still interested in participating as a new Mom? I suspect all is well Bean....give us a holler once you are feeling up to it!

Welcome back buddy! Missed you and looking forward to hearing details about the trips.

Wordnerd and Starshine - You both put a smile on my face this evening. I am still in Mexico but have moved from the land of email-less yoga world into the land of beaches, pina coladas, and internet cafes. I miss you both. Thank you for the advice. I´m still thinking about it... I have so much to write about. These last 10 days have been amazing... as have the last few months in terms of making changes. So many things to write about, I cannot start. I am going to wait until I am home in NY to do it all justice. I am still processing. xo

That's a toughy. It's still the same you, but energized, transformed and on a new path. So, keep the same blog, but reenergized and transformed. Every girl (and blog) need makeovers from time to time!

OMG, I missed you so much. How pitiful is that???

Anyway to throw in my 2c. I have to go against the grain here and vote for a new blog. The only reason is because when I started blogging, it was about my dad's cancer and treatment. When he died and I was recovering, it was still appropriate for me to be there.

But one day, it felt wrong. I needed the fresh start and to leave the rest behind.

Like the majority though, whatever you decide is great. It was very freeing to me when I began anew.

As long as I can read you, I have no preference. ;) I see the value in both and think you should do whatever feels right. Can't wait to hear all about it!

I would vote for new blog also. I think it is good to start fresh with a new outlook in life. I think symbols are very important.

You could also take the compromise position-- and just make some radical changes your blog design. It would feel new, but you wouldn't necessaryily need to drop the old.

I would keep the same blog. Not only do you tend to lose some folks when switching because people get lazy, it is nice to have a record. If I look at how my blog started and how it is now, its totally different, but I am happy with it that way. But its your blog!

welcome back! I missed ya

Before I read everyone else's comments, my gut said to create a new blog. Start it fresh like you're starting everything else fresh. But those in favor of keeping the old blog make excellent points, so now I don't think you can go wrong either way. I am so happy to hear you've had such a wonderful time in Mexico. I can't wait to hear more about it.
